I Want To Go Natural...African American Hair ?

My last relaxer was in the beggining of May. But I'm trying to grow my hair out and I heard that relaxers break your hair and don't make it grow. I usually have one every 6 weeks. Today is the 8th week. I have been braiding my hair every week and washing it every week with Mane n Tail. I see new growth...what do I do? Just keep washing and braiding or just relax it?
