Rhythm Beads/ Steed Beads?

I'm thinking about getting some... What's your experience with them? Are they useful in English Hunter/Jumper at all (I ride English and I don't want to get them if they aren't useful in that discipline)? Where did you get yours from? How did you transition your horse/pony into them? Are the mane clips or the necklaces better?
